Some Writer Updates

Okay, so I've come to realize that I have a lot of fanfiction stuff going on as of right now. I figured I should update you guys, my wonderful readers and reviewers, on what's going on.

First off, I have a lot of uncompleted WIP fics right now. I will be working on them as I go, though I cannot promise weekly/bi-weekly updates on each story. I am struggling for inspiration on some of them, but I have promised myself (and you) that I will finish them. Here is a list of my WIP fics, along with some info you all might like to know:

The Cursed Skull: 15+, novella, one published chapter

The Properties of a Rose: M, novella, 15 published chapters

Closer to Heaven Above: M, short story(as of now), 2 published chapters

The Truth About Peter: M, novella, 4 published chapters

Call Me Bright: M, novella, 1 published chapter

Failing History: M, short story, 3 published chapters*

Summer Daze: M, short story, 4 published chapters*

Albus Potter and the Hidden Secret: 12+, short story, 4 published chapters

*Anything with an asterik next to it is close (within 4 or less planned chapters) to finished.
That list will serve both myself and readers/reviewers to know what's going on in the world of Kate's WIP fics. =) Once again, I am working on them. Pinky promise.

I also have a lot of challenges in the HPFF Challenge Forum to complete. I'll be listing those challenges here--once again to aid myself as the writer and you as the reader of my other fanfictions.

New Oneshot--Deceit

Okay, so, of course, I was wandering around the challenge forums at HPFF, and I came across this challenge, "Can You Write It?" DarkRose, the maker of the challenge, gave me the pairing Bill/Hermione to work with.

My fanfiction ended up a little differently than anticipated. Apparently, I can't write Hermione without Ron, and the oneshot ended up being a triangle: Hermione was with Bill but thinks about Ron, etc...

Anyway, if you would like to read something that is extremely out of my comfort zone, check it out. The title is Deceit, and it is rated Mature. It's going to be posted on my author's page at HPFF.

New Story--The Cursed Skull

A New Story Idea

So I have an idea for a new WIP fic that I've been toying around with. It would be a James II-centred adventure/action fic titled The Cursed Skull. I think I'm going to post it sometime in the next two weeks, if not sooner. Here's the summary, though it might change a bit before I post it.

When the Chamber of Secrets is opened for a third time, sixth year James Potter (II) sets out to discover what is attacking the muggleborn students since the Basilisk was previously slayed by his father. When a close friend looks to be the next victim, James gets the help of a few friends and a lot of family, and together they struggle to solve the mystery and close the Chamber.

What do you think? Does this sound like it could be an entertaining/exciting read? Any comments or suggestions are welcomed!

At this point, I only have 2 1/2 chapters written, and I'm sure it will end up with at least 7 chapters, if not more.

My Apologies

I feel as though I owe all of my readers/reviewers a very, very big apology.

I am so, so, so sorry I have been slacking on my WIP updates!

Do I have an explanation? Yes. And here it is... This summer has been really crazy. First of all, I graduated this May, which made everything spin around twenty times faster than normal. Then I went to Miami for a week with my best friend as our "Senior Trip." It was loads of fun, but I didn't get any writing done. When I got back from Miami, Florida, the Food Lion store that I worked at was closing, so I was out of a job. Then finally, I got another job, but the hunt took forever and kind of consumed me. Now I just finished my training to become a server at Cracker Barrel, so I have a bit of time between shifts this week to write. Through out my whole summer, has been the looming (and slightly terrifying) coming of my freshman year of college. So my head has been busy with lots of thoughts and circumstances this summer, and I am incredibly sorry for that.

I have missed the fan fiction world, and I am glad to be jumping back in. =)

I appreciate you all sticking with me. Without you, there would be no reason for me to publish or even write my fan fictions. I truly enjoy sharing them with you all, and I appreciate your input and comments on them.
